Experiential Learning in Marketing Management: Live Project by BBA Student on DMart’s 7Ps of Marketing Mix
Experiential learning being an integral part of the management education system at Poddar Group of Institutions, a leading Management college in jaipur and constituent of Poddar Group of Institutions associated with Poddar International College, students are encouraged to eliminate the gap between theory and practice by undertaking field-based projects and making presentations. Under the guidance of Ms. Charushi Jain, BBA student Nishita Soni presented a thoughtful Live Project on the 7Ps of Marketing Mix of DMart. The project was based on a field study of the DMart store situated at Bhankrota, Jaipur, where the student analyzed different facets of the retailer’s marketing strategies.
The presentation commenced with a brief introduction to DMart’s parent company, Radhakishan Damani, along with an overview of the Indian retail industry. Nishita explored the 7Ps of the Marketing Mix by presenting insights into Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, Process, and Physical Evidence. The student emphasized DMart’s EDLP (Everyday Low Pricing) strategy, explaining how it serves as a key marketing approach for attracting highly price-sensitive customers.
The presentation further analyzed the store’s marketing practices using real-world observations and examples to support conclusions related to store layout, merchandising, promotional activities, customer service, employee engagement, and the physical environment. Through this Live Project, the student demonstrated practical marketing knowledge, analytical thinking, and effective presentation skills - qualities that are nurtured through industry-oriented learning experiences.
